Arifur Rahman became interested in filmmaking while studying Anthropology at Jahangirnagar University.  His films have played at the prestigious Sheffield Doc/Fest UK and International Human Rights Liberation Film Festival. He has directed and produced documentaries and factual programs in collaboration with BBC, Scottish Documentary Institute, Bangladesh Documentary Council, JICA, Telecom Staff Japan and NHK TV. Arifur Rahman has won the pitching competition at Tokyo Docs,2015 with his film “Beyond the waves”. His first produced Narrative feature film “Matir Projar Deshe/Kingdom of Clay Subjects” has just premiered at Seattle International Film Festival.
His current Feature Films include ‘Paradise’ in collaboration with Roman Paul, Razor Film Produktion, Germany. Another feature Narrative ‘EKA’ in collaboration with Wishberry, India.

Arifur Rahman is focused on making independent narrative fiction, documentary films and television programs which are specific to Bangladeshi society and culture, yet universally relatable. The exploration of human condition is the center of his story telling inspiration.
