Mark was conceived in the Fiji Islands, but sadly born in East Los Angeles. He comes from high school dropout, to three-time gang member; from drug addict to drug dealer, and then from graduate student to award-winning film maker. He worked for Bob and Harvey Weinstein at the Weinstein Company before he came an Editorial Assistant The Onion. He is currently an MFA Director at UCLA’s prestigious School of Film and Television. Marks’s first-ever film, The Battle of the Jazz Guitarist, has won several best documentary awards. It screened its European Premiere at the prestigious IDFA, and has screened at many festivals in the US and winner of Student Academy Awards
